The Club was established 35 years ago and is affiliated to the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS). We celebrated the start of our Coral Anniversary Year on 3rd April 2017 with a demonstration by Coral Gardiner entitled "35 Shades of Coral" - and cake! Do take a look at the Archive page to see the spectacular designs Coral made for us.
The Club meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7.30pm (except January and August when no meetings are held). We have the use of three different venues for our meetings which are clearly shown on the Programme page of the website. Pocklington Rugby Club is where we hold our Practice evenings, Workshops and Imposed classes. Shiptonthorpe Village Hall have wonderful kitchen and lighting facilities so this is where we hold our Demonstrations and for our Open Demonstration we meet at The Pocklington Arts Centre.
Members are offered a full programme of demonstrations, workshops and classes. Our aim is to encourage the love of flowers and to help our chosen charities. Over the years we have supported many charities, recently in 2013 Yorkshire Air Ambulance, 2014 British Heart Foundation, 2015 Prostate Cancer and 2016 The Alzheimer's Society and we will continue to support a chosen charity in 2017-18.
Workshops and Imposed classes will feature greatly in our 2017-18 programme so if you are keen to further your enjoyment of all things floral, please do come along to our Meetings. No flower arranging skills are necessary –sit back and enjoy the talented NAFAS demonstrators/designers and maybe win one of the arrangements in the raffle
In 2017-2018 we celebrate our Coral Anniversary, 35 years of wonderful flowers and fun. We are always delighted to enrol new members but also pleased to welcome visitors to our Meetings so if you would like to join us, a warm, friendly welcome awaits.
